Washed Caturra & Mundo Novo
Nelver Arevalo Heredia is the owner of two and a half hectares of land in the el Paraiso village in Huabal district. Nelver’s land is located from 1875 to 2000masl and is planted with a mix of varieties including caturra, typica, bourbon and catimor and planted at a density of 4000 plants per hectare.
Nelver’s farm is managed organically, though not certified, he does not apply any chemical fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides and has a great respect for the environment. Nelver’s family have a shared vegetable garden and intercrop beans and some native root vegetables in the coffee farm, which is quite rare in this area but a model for sustainable agriculture.
Since Huabal spans a couple of mountains the climate conditions and soils can vary considerably, with some areas having wet, humid conditions and red, African-like soils and others dry and hot. This all contributes to diverse and delicious cup profiles and some very complex coffees.

HOW WE'RE BREWING IT
Aeropress with a ratio of 60g/Litre with a 1-2 minute brew time.
Currently, we roast every Tuesday and carry out our quality control, analysis and packaging on Wednesday. We ship everything from Wednesday-Friday and orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be fulfilled the following week. All our coffees are shipped as whole beans.
