JANUARY COFFEE LAUNCHES

01

Ethiopia - Buku Abel

We're playing nothing but the hits as we keep our heads down and rally against the brutality of January and February. You want something nostalgic, something that reminds you of the first time, something that gives you hope, something that lets you know of the enormous potential of the year to come. Well, this natural Ethiopian doesn't do all of that, but it does taste deliciously of blackberries & vanilla ice cream, with a little citrus zing to cut through so at least there’s that.

02

Rwanda - Horizon 396

We only get a couple of Rwandan coffees in each year and they always intrigue and excite. ‘Horizon’ is so named because of Leo Fidele Ndagijimana’s vision to produce exceptional coffee, and if this is anything to go by then he’s absolutely spot on. Exotic flavours of strawberry and mango with base notes of dark chocolate await you.

03

Honduras - Ramos

The third of four new releases this month, we’re bringing some Honduran sunshine to our blustery shores. Continued developments in innovation by Honduran coffee producers has seen some spectacular lots come out over the years, and this lot from Don Wil Ramos is right in the mix. Look for heavy hits of orangeand lemon, with a black tea vibe. Hazelnut & caramel in the background adds a comfort level.

04

Brazil - Sitio Posses

Well, it’s not our first go round of Sitio Posses and it won’t be our last. Our pal Phil from Cargo gave us the hotline on this one a couple of years ago and it’s one we’re happy to bring back from the most recent harvest. Super smooth and balanced - a dollop of syrupy sweetness backed by rich milk chocolate notes, and a stewed fruit kicker. Not too challenging, it’s an ideal breakfast coffee or all day drinker.

GOOD Project: Diabetes Awareness Month

THE RESULT

For the month of November we ran a project that is especially close to our hearts, as it directly affects one of our team, Beck. For the whole month we showcased two Limited Edition coffees that Beck sourced and donated all the profits to Breakthrough T1D - the leading global charity for Type 1 Diabetes.

With all the coffee now sold, the results are in. We managed to raise £1754 for the charity. But let's round it up to a nice even number. Shall we call it £2K?

Breakthrough T1D have informed us that this donation will fund a Discovery Day providing vital information and support to 200 people, as well as 5 screenings for Type 1 Diabetes and 20 'Rufus' bears - which are special interactive bears for children with T1D. The newly redesigned bear now features special patches not only to teach children and their caregivers where insulin doses can be delivered to the human body, but also so that children can interact with Rufus in Rufus’ world on the app “Rufus the Bear with Diabetes.”

Through the app, children can help Rufus manage his diabetes and gain hands-on practice with diabetes management essentials like counting carbs, monitoring blood sugar, and dosing with insulin.

Pretty amazing. Pretty GOOD.
