MORE ABOUT THIS COFFEE

In the slow paced town of Rio Paranaíba, Osvaldo and his wife Eny have been dedicated to coffee farming at Fazenda Olhos D'água for over three decades. They started out small, planting the first coffee trees in 1987, and through hard work and determination, they have been able to expand their operation to 13 hectares. The farm remains small scale by Brazilian standards so care can be given to every steop of the process.

We feel that this can be clearly tasted in the cup. The coffee has exceptional clean sweetness with a hint of caramel and fruit coming form the section of ripe cherrys (Red Catuai in this case). As traditional for the region and many of the small scale farms in Brazil, the coffee is processed naturally leaving the fruit intact during the entire drying process.

One of the benefits of being a small-scale producer is the ability to have greater control over every aspect of the coffee production process. At Fazenda Olhos D'água, Osvaldo and Eny are responsible for every step, from planting and harvesting the coffee trees to processing and drying. They take great care to maintain the uniformity of the drying of the coffee and to ensure that they reach the appropriate humidity level. This is hard, manual work turning the coffee beans by hand.

The farm's small size also allows for a more personalised approach to coffee production. Osvaldo and Eny have a deep understanding of their land and their coffee trees, and are able to make decisions that are tailored to the specific needs of their farm. This level of attention to detail can be difficult to achieve on a larger scale, where the focus may be more on efficiency and output.

Our cans are made from tin plate steel and therefore can be reused or recycled infinitely. We encourage you to reuse this can as much as you...can. Get it? 'Can' has more than one meaning. We offer a discount in-store when you refill your can. You can also refill at selected wholesale partners where available. No wholesale partner in your area?
